Our Beginnings

I am a sole-proprietor operating from my home office in Muskoka. I have a part-time bookkeeper/assistant who helps me when needed. I have operated as a sole-proprietor since July of 2005. I obtained my Charter Accountant designation in 1986. I worked for the C.A. firm, Clarke Henning LLP in Toronto from October 1984 to December 1997 before moving to Muskoka. I worked in the Bracebridge office of BDO Dunwoody LLP from January 1998 until February 2002. After leaving BDO I started my own firm and I was the managing partner of Stevenson Oliphant, Chartered Accountants until we dissolved the partnership in July of 2005.

Our History

While at Clarke Henning, I specialized in providing auditing services and in particular audits of not-for-profit organizations. I audited a number of large hospitals and nursing homes in the GTA including St. Michael’s in Toronto and St. Joseph’s in Hamilton. In addition, I audited many other not-for-profit organizations including St. Michael’s Homes, Toronto Construction Association, Ontario Natural Gas Association, Mechanical Contractors Association of Toronto and many other smaller groups.

Today, I live and work in Muskoka, where I maintain a solid client base. At Dave Stevenson CPA, CA we provide a full array of business accounting services for individuals, families, small business owners, corporate companies and non-for-profit organizations.
